LANDSCAPE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION IN GRAND LEDGE, MICHIGAN
This client was recently retired when they desired a retirement retreat in their own back yard. With a bucket list in mind, they met with our design staff to zone in exactly what they needed for an outdoor living space of their dreams. They have gatherings of over 15 people, they love to golf and play cornhole as well. Bonfires are a must, and a free-standing stone bar was on the bucket list too.
After a quality site consultation with the client our team designed a custom landscape that fit their needs. A putting green with 3 light-up holes and chipping area is the main attraction. Custom planter boxes created by the client define a path that leads to the main upper patio where they have a large pergola, free standing bar, natural fire pit, seat wall, and plenty of room to play cornhole at 27' regulation distance. There is a paver walkway that connects this main patio to the driveway. The main patio has steps that connect it to the lower outdoor living area. The walk out basement slider is here, making a sunken patio and retaining walls the perfect design element to maintain function and flow in the landscape. Landscape lighting and a full plant installation contribute steadily to the mood of the landscape as well. The Karl Foerster grasses keep the putting green feeling like a golf course. The Pink Flowering Dogwood trees cast an afternoon shadow on the landscape to make those hot summer nights more enjoyable.
